Widest Range of Made-in-Asia Skincare Launched: Co-developed & tested by Asian dermatologists

Bandar Sunway, 24 April 2026 - guardian Malaysia celebrates modern derma science’s fusion with Asia’s holistic skin wellness approaches via its Asian Derma

Concourse in Sunway Pyramid from the 20th to 26th April 2026. The SkinQi-themed event sees the official launch of the latest and greatest line-up of derma skincare products from China and Korea at guardian, Malaysia’s No. 1 Skin Expert Destination.
the new launches offer topical skin solutions that align with holistic skin wellbeing and were led by market-defining brands like Winona, Pyunkang Yul, APLB, 377 Sightfuture, Proya, Chando and HBN whereby all these afore-mentioned brands, except one, are exclusively found only at guardian. Shoppers here have seen an increasing interest in made-in-Asia skincare due to climate-specific skin concerns. This is a ‘hot topic’ given the on-going heatwave happening here.

Heatwave and Asian skin concerns

Heatwaves aren’t just wreaking havoc on our ecosystem, but it’s also affecting the wellbeing of our skin – the largest organ of our body.

According to Harvard Health Publishing (click here), eczema, rashes and skin sensitivity may worsen when temperature rises. Given increasing skincare literacy, exposure to dermatologists and the rising influence of K-, C- and J-beauty trends, Malaysians begin looking for more ‘effective’ skincare for their concerns.

Speaking at the media launch, Priscilla Wu, Managing Director of guardian Malaysia said,

“These curated brands are focused on the highly relevant categories of eczema, acne and hyperpigmentation so Malaysians can access formulations – some of which showcase the ‘yin’ and ‘yang’ of herbs and science – that have been developed with Asian skin concerns in mind.”

Amongst the VIPs present at the event were Mr Lim Jack Shen, General Secretary of the Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS), Dr Kevin Guo, Director of Product Development Winona and Dr Kwon O-ryeon, Director of Pyunkang Korean Medicine Hospital (Seocho branch).

‘Made-for-me’ Skincare

Each brand in this new range meets guardian's dermatological qualification standards and offers targeted formulations for sensitive skin, acne control, brightening, barrier repair, anti-aging and melanin control. It has been formulated or developed in consultation with dermatologists and backed by rigorous clinical trials and ingredients’ efficacy testing in regional climates.

“This last point on efficacy is paramount to our shoppers,” added Priscilla. As Asians’ skin structure, physiology and pigmentation make-up are unique (click here) and couple that with the extreme climate being experienced here, it isn’t surprising that users would likely benefit the most from Asian derma brands of skincare.

“With these ‘Made-for-me’ skincare brands, the unmet need of our shoppers seeking out the best-of-the-best Asian derma skincare brands is now a thing of the past! We are the first to bring together the widest range of Asian derma skincare products all under one-roof, with the leading Chinese and Korean brands joining the likes of Japanese ones in-store. To shoppers, come and try our AI-powered Skin Health Check before we recommend the right Asian derma skincare range for you,” added Priscilla.

guardian’s Derma Expertise x Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS)

guardian derma-certified personnel’s professional expertise will be further upgraded via an MOU signed with MPS during the event.

“This MOU with MPS covers collaborative efforts on dermatology-focused professional training program and strengthens our commitment as the trusted advisor of wellness, which is already currently reflected by our over 100 Derma Expert pharmacists and the 600 derma advisors in-store,” said Priscilla.

With the widest range of Asian derma skincare in-store, these derma-certified personnel supported by guardian’s AI-powered tool can suggest to shoppers the right made-in-Asia products for optimal results. All these provide shoppers with an elevated commitment to skin health. It makes guardian a one-stop shop for trusted advice, curated solutions and innovative technologies for skin wellbeing.

“Come check out our new Asian Derma skincare. Let our Derma Expert pharmacists or our derma advisors in-store work with our AI-powered Skin Health Check to help run a personalised skin assessment for you before recommending the optimal skincare regiment for you!” concluded Priscilla.

Thank you guardian Malaysia for inviting me to the launch. Such a great experience on hands on products trying and knowing my Yang condition.

guardian wants Malaysians to have a happy mouth and a happy life

Launching of World Oral Health Day, supported by the Malaysian Dental Association (MDA), in its fight against dental caries (tooth decay)

Petaling Jaya, 31 March 2026:

According to the Malaysian Ministry of Health (MOH) in its National Oral Health Survey of Adults (NOHSA 2020), dental caries exist in 85.1% of surveyed adults (Click here). Dental caries or tooth decay prevalence rate indicates the presence of decayed, missing or filled teeth among over 8 out of 10 adult Malaysians.

While the prevalence rate has been on the decline, there is still much that industry stakeholders could do to help Malaysians achieve the National Oral Health Strategic Plan’s caries’ free targets by the end of this decade.

Therefore, in conjunction with the annual celebration of the World Oral Health Day on the 20th of March worldwide, guardian Malaysia is hosting its World Oral Health Day atrium at the 1Utama Centre Court from the 31st of March to the 5th of April, and at Midvalley Southkey, Johor Bahru. The event is supported by the MDA and FDI World Dental Federation and is in-line with the aspirations of the MOH.

Being the No. 1 Health & Beauty Retailer* in this country, guardian Malaysia seeks to play its part in the fight against dental caries by advocating holistic wellness and elevating oral care from being merely a hygiene routine to becoming an essential part of healthcare.

The mouth is the mirror to YOUR body’s overall wellbeing

“Many are unaware about the links between oral care to systemic diseases like diabetes and heart disease. Individuals who’d take oral care for granted and neglect it might have to pay a fairly high price in the future,” shared Anna Ng, Marketing Director of guardian Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei.

The World Oral Health Day is designed to spark the awareness amongst Malaysians of this important but often neglected part of wellbeing care. It seeks to empower individuals with tips and knowledge to better oral health from strong teeth to fresh breath and more – all these being delivered by dental care experts and guardian pharmacists at this atrium event! Various interactive zones at this week-long event such as the ‘Build your strong smile’, ‘Protect your mouth’ and ‘Shine with confidence’ zones have been designed to be engaging, exploratory and impactful to allow for members of the public to learn up good oral hygiene and ‘stop’ the diseases on its track via daily care and preventive habits.

guardian Malaysia expands its trust ‘circle’ to include Oral Care

Speaking at the launch of the atrium event, Priscilla Wu, Managing Director of guardian Malaysia said,

“guardian Malaysia’s role as the trusted advisor for wellness to all Malaysians now includes empowering them to adopt preventive care on their oral health as the primary defence against dental issues. This week-long event, in celebration of World Oral Health Day, is supported by the MDA and Haleon and in-line with the objectives of the MOH is our first-step towards this direction.”

The President of the Malaysian Dental Association (MDA), Dr Chong Zhen Feng said that:

“As the MDA is focused on working constructively with industry stakeholders to better serve the interest of the public, we are delighted to be part of this public outreach platform by guardian Malaysia that celebrates World Oral Health Day with various talks, free dental check-ups and the presence of oral care experts during this week-long event for shoppers to improve their daily hygiene and routines.”

Besides the MDA, representatives from the Oral Health Programme (OHP), Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM ) as well as the deans of the dentistry faculties of International Medical University (IMU) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) were also present at the event as they lend their dental expertise and support to make this week-long atrium a success.

Dental check-ups and consultations are provided via enclosed, private booths at the atrium from 12 noon to 6 pm on the 31st of March as well as on the 3rd to the 5th of April. There will be stage activities on topics of interest by BioMed, Colgate, Darlie, Henry Blooms and Sensodyne at selected hours in the afternoons in the upcoming weekend.

“We are proud to be a stakeholder partner of the MDA in serving the oral care interest of the public and are thankful to them and Haleon for their support of free dental check-ups and consultations for the public at this atrium,” added Priscilla.

Happiness all around, especially for MYguardian Rewards’ members

“In-line with the atrium’s aptly named theme of ‘A happy mouth is a happy life’, the preventive measures and hacks learnt should be inculcated as part of new routines and habits in the lives of our shoppers across all ages from the kids and teens to the young adults, family men and women as well as the senior citizens. But, the happiness does not stop there,” Anna added.

There are exclusive MYguardian Rewards’ members-only promotions during the atrium:

FREE RM 30 guardian gift voucher for any minimum purchase of RM 130
FREE mini trendy luggage with a minimum purchase of RM 200
Pre-event coupon drop i.e. RM 5 discount for RM 50 purchased
Buy TWO, free ONE mix & match and save up to 30% (only on 31st March)
2nd item purchased at 70% discount and save up to 30% from 1st to 5th April

“Come join in the fun and learn how to care for your oral health today,” concluded Anna.

Thank you guardian Malaysia for inviting me today. I have bought oral care products for my family members too.

Give the Gift of Wellness This Hari Raya! guardian Malaysia reframes Raya gifting as a lasting gesture of care and protection

This Hari Raya Aidil Fitri, guardian Malaysia invites Malaysians to look beyond tradition and embrace a deeper, more lasting expression of care – the gift of wellness!

While duit Raya and festive treats remain cherished customs, guardian encourages families to consider gifts that continue to protect, nurture and strengthen their loved ones long after the celebrations have ended.

A Meaningful Evolution of Raya Giving

Speaking at the launch of guardian’s Raya campaign, “Seikhlas Pemberian, Seindah Lebaran”, Priscilla Wu, Managing Director, Malaysia & Brunei, guardian Health and Beauty, shared that Raya is ultimately about sincerity, gratitude and love.

“This festive season, we are gently reframing the tradition of giving. Beyond duit Raya and festive dishes, we encourage Malaysians to give something that safeguards health and supports wellbeing – because the truest expression of love is ensuring our families remain protected and cared for,” she said.

“For over 58 years, guardian has stood beside Malaysians as a trusted wellness advisor. Every thoughtfully chosen health or beauty gift becomes more than a product – it becomes a blessing that endures beyond the festivities.”

A Story of Care Across Generations

The campaign message comes to life through guardian’s new Raya film, “Seikhlas Pemberian, Seindah Lebaran.”

The film follows Rina and her grandmother, portraying how simple, thoughtful gifts of wellness over the years quietly strengthened their bond and supported their health. It closes with a heartfelt reminder – that the most meaningful Raya gifts are good health, love and sincere prayer.

The new guardian Raya film is now available on YouTube and all guardian social media platforms.

Extending Care to the Community

In the spirit of Ramadan – a month of reflection, empathy and generosity – guardian also hosted 80 girls from various homes at the campaign launch event, which was held at the guardian Raya atrium event at the Orange Atrium, Sunway Pyramid shopping centre.

The guardian Raya Atrium event will run from 2 – 8 March and will feature spectacular promotions and experiential zones from many brands.

The girls took part in wellness sessions led by guardian pharmacists and selected brand partners, as part of guardian’s ongoing commitment to empowering young Malaysians with practical wellness knowledge and personal care education. The girls were also taken on a Hari Raya shopping spree at the Atrium event and the Sunway Pyramid guardian store where they selected their desired health and beauty products, guided by guardian team members and members of the media. They were then treated to a special Buka Puasa buffet.

Throughout the month of Ramadan, guardian will continue its charity wellness contributions, impacting close to 2,000 beneficiaries from various homes through outreach and wellness initiatives in several communities by pledging over RM55,000.

Celebrating Raya with MYguardian Rewards

To make this festive season even more meaningful, MYguardian Rewards members can participate in the Gold Rewards Contest, with over RM80,000 worth of prizes to be won.

From 25 February to 31 March 2026, members who spend a minimum of RM50 in a single receipt including participating brands will be automatically entered to win:
Grand Prize: A 999 gold Necklace and Pendant Rama Rama set by Habib Jewels
Four Second Prizes: 999 gold Hand Bracelet by Habib Jewels
Weekly Rewards: 200 winners each week will receive RM50 Habib Jewels vouchers (1,000 vouchers in total)

This Raya, Fiziwoo is partnering with guardian once again to design exclusive Raya packets. As part of guardian's ongoing #LoveForLocal initiative which celebrates exceptional homegrown brands, these designs pay tribute to Malaysian heritage with a bold, contemporary batik motif. Members who spend RM68 and above will receive an exclusive Fiziwoo green packet pack containing a RM5 guardian voucher.

Wellness for Every Generation

To help families prepare for Raya, guardian is also offering up to 50% discounts on over 7,500 products across all stores nationwide and online – making it easier for Malaysians to choose gifts that prioritise health, beauty and everyday wellbeing.

“There is no greater gift than knowing the people we love are cared for and protected,” Priscilla added.

“This Raya, let us give something that strengthens them for the journey ahead - a gift of wellness that reflects love, sincerity and prayer.”

guardian Malaysia welcomes Chinese New Year with everything ONG

‘Stay ONG in Health and Radiance’ 旺出健康 旺出光彩 campaign launched via mini drama, experiential atrium event and exclusive promotions to shoppers

Kuala Lumpur, 15 January 2026 –

Chinese New Year (CNY) is about a month away and for those celebrating this joyous occasion, the pursuit of health and wealth in the new lunar calendar year is part of the age-old tradition of seeking out ONG, which has been passed down through the generations.

“Although the pursuit of ONG is synonymous with Chinese New Year, each generation in the family these days sees ONG in slightly different lights,” said Anna Ng, Marketing Director of guardian Malaysia.

Patriarchal family members see ONG as representing family togetherness and tradition while the parental generations take it as representing financial wealth and stability. The younger generations, on the other hand, link ONG symbolically to self-expression and confidence.

Searching for ONG, via guardian Malaysia’s CNY Campaign and Mini Drama

guardian Malaysia, through its upcoming ‘Stay ONG in Health and Radiance’ CNY campaign, aims to bridge this generational divide by inspiring Malaysians with a fresh take on the meaning and interpretations of seeking out ONG during the lunar new year.

Anna added, “We will be taking a light-hearted and fun approach via our ‘Stay ONG in Health and Radiance’ 5-part mini drama to uncover a new perspective on the meaning of ONG.”

Through the mini drama, Malaysians are invited into the lives of the Ong family household’s CNY preparations and through various episodic interactions and engagements that have been creatively named ‘The Beauty Queen’ and ‘The Oral Ace’ amongst others, the Ong family members would finally discover the true meaning of ONG.

“We believe that ONG truly means health, wellness and beauty that is shared across generations of family members. It goes beyond prosperity. It extends beyond surface wishes and greetings. guardian Malaysia as the trusted advisor of wellness believes that ONG resonates deeply with radiance, vitality, health and beauty,” explained Anna.

This mini drama, which will debut online today, creatively seeks to inspire Malaysians to live well via focussing on self-care as well as the care for loved ones. Casts involved in this mini drama were also present at the media and influencers’ preview event held at guardian Malaysia’s Pavilion Bukit Jalil outlet today to share their personal experiences and interpretations of ONG.

Everything ONG at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, from 15th to 18th January!

This event, aptly dubbed ‘Unlock Your Ong’, brings together Platinum brand partners Dove, Skintific, Garnier and Silkygirl to create an experiential zone for influencers, media representative and shoppers to celebrate ONG in every form.

Activities at the store and the atrium, which will run from the 15th to the 18th of this month, cover the three ONGs of radiance, beauty and health as shoppers get the chance to undergo skincare consultations, learn of make-up hacks and seek out health tips, respectively. As if there aren’t yet enough of ONGs at the event, there is also a ‘Wall of ONG’, a ‘Trail of ONG’ as well as exclusive festive deals, members’ only giveaways, wellness advices and beauty surprises.

In the spirit of wanting to bring everything ONG to its shoppers, there are also ang pow packets’ giveaways, lion dance performances, preview of the new mini drama as well as the exclusive MYguardian Rewards’ members exclusive ‘Your ONG, Your Way’ deals whereby shopper members can unlock personalised fortunes and rewards in-store and online!

ONG! ONG! And, more ONG coming to guardian Malaysia’s shoppers nationwide!

As part this campaign, which runs through most weeks of January and February 2026, guardian Malaysia’s shoppers are entitled to benefit from the following ONG-like promotions:

With the onset of the new year, the journey towards wellness starts with guardian and YOU.

Anna concluded by saying, “guardian Malaysia is YOUR go-to destination for health, beauty and festive wellness. We want our shoppers to feel excited, inspired and personally connected to the renewed interpretations of true ONG. Come to guardian Malaysia for all the ONG-ness that you want and desire for YOU and YOUR family.”

guardian Malaysia unveils Professional Skincare Consultations by its pharmacists Roll-out of AI-powered Skin Health Check across stores nationwide complements the pharmacists’ expertise in personalised, 1-1 consultations

guardian Malaysia announced that its pharmacists nationwide are now Certified Derma Experts. These pharmacists have the right ‘know-how’ to professionally consult and address shoppers’ skincare questions, especially in the specialised areas of derma skincare and sensitive skin needs.

A private preview comprising close to 150 media representatives, influencers and invited shoppers was held to allow guests to have a first-hand, personalised 1-1 consultation with the Certified Derma Experts. Skin health check counters as well as skincare solution booths were made available at this event besides an accompanying workshop session.

guardian pharmacists’ upgraded knowledge is paired with the latest AI-powered Skin Health Check tool as Malaysia’s No. 1 Health & Beauty Retailer* rolls out this upgraded in-store consultation experience across stores nationwide. The Korean-designed Skin Health Check device helps shoppers discover their skin needs across 12 insights i.e. wrinkles, dark circles, blemishes, pores and acnes, amongst others – ALL in just 3 minutes.

Priscilla Wu, Managing Director, guardian Malaysia, said: “As the trusted and preferred go-to-destination for everything skincare, guardian Malaysia is proud to be the first health & beauty retailer in this country to champion the need for pharmacists to be derma skin experts.”

Priscilla added that this effort is made through guardian’s Radiance Academy that works with brand partners to structure and organise a curriculum that is focused on the increasing issues of eczema, acne, hyper-pigmentation and sensitive skin faced by Malaysians out there.

As part of the structured curriculum, pharmacists are exposed to curated topics on skin health that are conducted by speakers and trainers who are experts from our brand partners as well as Malaysia’s leading dermatologists.

Expert Says: Skincare and its link to overall wellbeing

Present at the event is one such expert, dermatologist Dr Ch’ng Chin Chwen, who said: “Many Malaysians ‘forget’ that the skin is our body’s largest organ. It acts as an important ‘shield’ for the individual’s protection, sensory organ, synthesis of Vitamin D and regulation of the body temperature. Therefore, it is important to care for the skin given its critical and multi-faceted role in supporting an individual’s health and wellbeing.”

Given the increasing prevalence of derma skin issues and sensitive skin needs, are Malaysians equipped with the right knowledge to care for their skin health?

“Access to expert-level advice can be further enhanced and knowledge is power. When skin consultation and analysis is done right, the awareness of what’s not right with the health of the skin will then enable the selection of the right solution to improve it,” added Dr Ch’ng.

guardian Pharmacists: Your friendly Derma Expert around your neighbourhood

Expert-level advice should not be misunderstood to be everything that one reads right out of the Internet or hearsay from extended families, friends and colleagues. “There is information overdose. And, there is also misinformation. Shoppers are either confused or misguided,” added Priscilla.

The intention to provide shoppers with personalised, 1-1 skin analysis using our AI-powered tool and to enable them access to the ‘right information’ gave birth to Radiance Academy. Working with brand partners in curating the right mix of courses in the curriculum for guardian Pharmacists, it has been an upskilling effort in continuous professional development to gain CME points (Continuous Medical Education) at the same time.

“The roll-out of our AI-powered Skin Health Check and your pharmacist’s certification of Derma Expertise underline guardian Malaysia’s commitment to empowering YOU with the right knowledge and guidance towards healthier skin,” concluded Priscilla.

Everyone with derma skin concerns is welcomed to speak to the Certified Derma Experts. MYguardian Rewards’ members stand to gain more with guardian Malaysia reward vouchers and sample kit. IT'S FINALLY CONFIRMED THAT HUAWEI PURA 80 SERIES IS POWERED BY THEIR STRONGEST CHIPSET – KIRIN 9020

It’s official, the newly launched HUAWEI Pura 80 Series is running on the latest Kirin 9020 chipset. The confirmation comes hot after the series’ global debut, ending weeks of rumours around what processor is powering Huawei’s latest flagship devices.

The Kirin 9020, designed by Hisilicon, isn’t just another chip, it’s a finely tuned beast built with one high-performance Taishan core clocked at 2.5GHz, three balanced Taishan cores at 2.15GHz, and four efficiency Taishan cores at 1.6GHz. Two of its main Taishan cores support hyperthreading, enabling them to juggle dual tasks simultaneously. In other words, some systems may even recognise it as a 2+6+4 configuration instead of its actual 1+3+4 layout.

For graphics, the Kirin 9020 packs the Maleoon 920 GPU, running at 840MHz, promising smoother visuals and seamless performance – perfect for the Pura 80’s photography, videography, and entertainment ambitions.

Moving on from the Kirin 9020, Huawei is already expected to unleash an even bigger and faster Kirin 9030 in the upcoming Mate Series later this year. If the 9020 is the warm-up act, the Kirin 9030* is tipped to be the showstopper – so fans can keep their eyes peeled for the next leap in Huawei innovation.
