The time to be jolly is here again and what better way to celebrate the season of cheer than to drop by the Ames Hotel, Melaka, where an exceptionally spirited Christmas celebration has been planned. 

The time to be jolly is here again and what better way to celebrate the season of cheer than to drop by the Ames Hotel, Melaka, where an exceptionally spirited Christmas celebration has been planned, with Santa and Santarina appearances every Friday (11th, 18th & 25^th Dec) and Saturday (12th & 19^th Dec) at the lobby of the hotel. There will also be carolling performances on the 22nd and 23rd December starting from 7.00pm to 8.00pm.

 

Opened in the second half of 2019, Ames Hotel is a member of LSL Hotel Group, which is the hospitality arm of Sheng Tai International Sdn Bhd.

A glorious Christmas Wishing Tree measuring 15 feet will be set up at the hotel’s lobby and be the centre of the Christmas cheer.

The Christmas Wishing Tree will be lit up during an exclusive ceremony hosted by the hotel. The tree will also be adorned with countless gift cards, placed especially for Ames Hotel’s Christmas giveaway to the underprivileged children. The cards will contain names of various gifts of which hotel patrons and guests can take, purchase the gifts stated on the cards and hand it back to the hotel attached with their personalized wishes for the recipients of the gifts. The gifts will be channelled to two homes namely, Sunbeam Home in Alor Gajah and Hope Home in Bukit Baru.

Dato’ Leong Sir Ley, Founder and Chairman of Sheng Tai International, said, “Our home base is in Melaka thus it is only befitting that we celebrate the spirit of giving right here. We feel that it is our privilege to be able to celebrate as well as serve our community during these uncertain times. The spirit of giving during Christmas should not be suppressed and we feel this year is no different. We are looking forward to the lighting ceremony as we feel that now is the perfect time to share in the spirit of Christmas.”

“In addition to this ceremony, we are spreading the season’s cheer with a lot of Christmas themed activities and performances. It is our hope that everyone who comes here will enjoy the celebrations with us and have the most wonderful Christmas ever.

Ames Season Giveaways from 5th to 31st December 2020 will see one lucky winner receiving a two day, one-night stay inclusive of breakfast buffet. To stand a chance to win, participants will need to Like the Ames Hotel’s Facebook page, share the post with their friends, and leave a comment on their most memorable dining or hotel stay experience during the holiday season.

There is also a chance to win a Christmas Eve or Christmas Day brunch, or a New Year’s Eve or a New Year’s Day brunch for two when you take a picture with any of the hotel’s Christmas decorations or at any of the hotel’s outlets while dining in during the Christmas season from the 7th – 22nd December 2020. With the help of over 150 students from INTI’s Centre of Art & Design (ICAD), Christmas trees at Atrium, Ground Floor are decorated with over 800 DIY ornaments. Elsewhere in the mall, shoppers are greeted with sweet, candy-inspired decorations featuring cute characters from Da Men Mall’s festive collaboration with Pocotee & Friends, an exclusive partnership that is sure to appeal to younger members of the Da Men Mall community. Shoppers can also experience a white Christmas with a snowfall experience every weekend at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.

“CSR and giving back to the community lies at the core of the mall’s values. This season of giving, we are absolutely delighted to share the cheer with the surrounding community. At Da Men Mall’s ‘Candy Christmas Cookie Drop’ last week, our staff dressed up in festive costumes to visit orphanages and old folks homes and personally deliver cookies and sweet treats,” says Dato’ Joyce Yap.

The treats were baked at the annual Smart Junior Chef Culinary Competition on 17 November hosted by Da Men Mall. At the event, Da Men Mall also made its mark by entering the Malaysia Book of Records for the second time this year, in collaboration with Smart Junior Chef, Fonterra Brands and Rasaku, for the “Most Number of Cookies used in a Domino Effect.” Earlier this year, Da Men Mall received its first MBR entry for the “Most Number of Beauty Queens Wearing Kebaya in a Fashion Parade.”

From November 27, 2015 to 3 January, 2015, the Curve's Centre Court literally takes books to new heights with a stunning Storyland setup, as grand Christmas - themed storybooks, each containing a magical tale within their pages, deck the stage.
