ENERGIZER 'SHOP IN THE DARK' 2017: VIRTUAL REALITY ROADSHOWS

 Good news to shoppers for are looking to shop for batteries. Now Energizer Shop In The Dark 2017 is back. This campaign started on April 2017 with the Facebook Digital Contest and mail-in entries, Energizer officially introduced the third leg of its entry submission for the contest with the launch of Virtual Reality (VR) roadshows at MYDIN USJ, Subang on 5 May.

  Last year’s campaign comprised of a series of Dark Room challenges at selected MYDIN stores located in five states across Peninsular Malaysia – Selangor, Penang, Negeri Sembilan and Johor. In these challenges, shoppers were required to shop in the dark for a list of items within a stipulated time limit, showcasing the power of the Energizer Max batteries which is now 8x longer lasting. The participants with the highest scores at each roadshow were then invited to participate in the grand finale of the Energizer ‘Shop In The Dark’ campaign at MYDIN USJ, Subang Jaya.

 This year, to reach out to a wider audience of shoppers and Energizer users across the nation, Energizer is offering three different methods of entry submissions which include:
1) Onground roadshows (starts on 5 May)
2) Mail-in entries (starts on 1 April) and,
3) Facebook contest (starts on 1 April). 

The Dark Room roadshows introduce a new virtual reality (VR) twist to the challenge this year as shoppers will be shopping in the dark through a VR machine. Shoppers who are interested to participate through the roadshows or mail in entry are required to provide a proof of purchase with a minimum of RM10 worth of Energizer or Eveready products.

The new virtual reality ‘Shop In The Dark’ challenge at selected MYDIN outlets offers an entirely different experience of shopping in the dark. I am happy being one of the media blogger to be on spot try out the VR and shop in the virtual store with a list of items to look for within a fixed time. This will be a whole new experience of shopping in the dark for the eyes and ears, hands on experienced whole VR challenge is 120 seconds (2mins) that is fun and I am happy to have collected the 9 items into the shopping cart.

 Four winners from the roadshow challenges, five winners from the mail-in entries and one winner from the Facebook contest will win an eight-minute shopping spree bonus worth up to RM3,500 each during the contest finale which will take place at MYDIN USJ, Subang Jaya in July. In the shopping spree, the winner can load up anything they wish (with restrictions and pre-imposed parameters) into their shopping cart. The items in the shopping cart will be paid in full by Energizer up to RM3,500.

The SHARP Z2 comes in two colors – Gold and Silver, and retails at RM1,199.

The SHARP M1 is available in Hanayome White and Pure Pink, and retails at RM899.

Launch of Guardian's Bring Your Orange Bag 2

 Guardian Health and Beauty (Guardian) introduced its BYOB2 (Bring Your Orange Bag) orange bag exclusively for its customers in conjunction with Environment Day 2016. Designed by Marie Sydonie, a former French catwalk model and more recently of Sydonie Apparel fame, the re-usable orange will be available at all Guardian stores from 29 October to 31 December 2016.

"The orange bags were produced from funds collected from the 'No Plastic Bag Day' campaign. This year there are a total of 25,000 bags up for grabs by environmental-loving Guardian shoppers. The beneficiaries of this year's BYOB are Dignity for Children Foundation, fashion designer Sydonie's charity of choice; while Guardian selected EcoKnights, an NGO that serves the community through development-led interventions focused on the environment from education and awareness programmes to research and public participation programmes to consultation. For each bag redeemed, Guardian will donate RM1 to each of the non-profit organizations. We are also passtionate about the environment and the ecosystem. This is why we want to encourage shoppers to use Guardian's stylish and durable reusable bags instead of plastic bags," explained marketing director, Christina Low.

 Guardian's BYOB2 campaign launch was held at Sunway Pyramid mall. During the event Sydonie took the stage to explain the inspiration behind the 2016 edition of the orange bag; the EcoKnights Programmer Director, Fadly Bakhtiar, provided insights on the NGO's 'From Garbage to Garden's programme.

Guardian's first launched its BYOB last year in Melaka with a series of three specially-designed reusable bags. Signifying the three key aspects that best represent Guardian's values, the orange bags were aptly named Trust, Passion an Inspiration respectively, you can click on the link to read the post.
